Experiential Anatomy for the Multidimensional Being® is a 100-hour advanced training in yoga anatomy for certified yoga teachers. This program is designed to help you acquire a deeper knowledge of the body by studying both the objective, scientific aspects of anatomy, as well as exploring the subjective, experiential elements. We will use mediums such as experiential movement, palpation, art and awareness through internal scanning as we learn how to integrate anatomy with various yoga practices.

The constant weaving of the dense and subtle bodies is displayed in our physical posture. Therefore, Experiential Anatomy® starts at the most dense dimension of the Koshas, the physical body. Everything from the bones, muscles, ligaments, joints, and organs, will be covered as well as the respiratory system, the endocrine system, and the nervous system. The subtle body is acknowledged in historic yogic text and modern science as having a profound relationship with the health of the physical body. For this reason we will also examine the role of chakras, prana, emotions, and thoughts on our health and posture. We will look at the interrelationships that occur between all of these systems and how they affect yogasana.

When you study basic anatomy as it exists in a living being you are dealing with physiology, and when you are dealing with movement and physiology you have kinesiology. When you add the mind, emotions, and environment to the equation you have psychosomatics! Experiential Anatomy® is a combination of the above. We will look at the body as more than the sum of its parts, and by understanding all its parts, you understand how to put them back together to create something whole. A fluent teacher can approach the body like studied jazz musician approaches music; with her own rhythm, rules, and sequences to fit what’s optimal in that moment. Bringing awareness to the ordinary inevitably exposes the extraordinary.
